For a cheaper, healthier and tastier steak sauce that beats the store-bought stuff, drizzle this homemade recipe over a rib eye steak or any cut of choice.
Whip it up in just 15 minutes – about as long as it takes to cook a couple steaks. Save the rest for future dishes, or use it to coat chicken, lamb or turkey. You can even use it as a dipping sauce with grilled sweet potato fries – it’s delicious. Promise.
Savoury Balsamic Steak Sauce Recipe
Ingredients Paleo steak sauce
¾ cup balsamic vinegar
2/3 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup bone broth
2 T Dijon mustard
1 T Tamari (substitute coconutaminos
if you’d like)
1 t minced garlic
1/2 t cinnamon
Optional: 2 t tapioca starch, made into a slurry
How to Make It
1. Whisk together all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring mixture to a boil for ten minutes, stirring often. The mixture should thicken.
2. For a thicker sauce, whisk in a slurry of 2 tsp. tapioca starch and water. Serve atop steak, chicken, lamb and more.
